Frank Hanley is a martial artist, author, and teacher of Hung Ga style Kung Fu, Taijiquan and multiple Qigong styles and practices. "Sihing" Frank has been practicing martial, healing and energy arts for over 30 years. He is a professional member of the National Qigong Association (NQA), an NQA Certified Instructor and he serves on several NQA committees. He organized and founded the FSHD Society South Carolina Chapter, and serves as the Chapter Director.
Challenged by facioscapulohumeral (FSHD) Muscular Dystrophy all of his adult life, "Sihing" Frank will discuss the daily qigong routine that he practices and demonstrate simple qigong exercises that he practices daily. These exercises improve qi flow, develop better breathing, keep qi channels clear, exercise internal organs and strengthen the immune system. A daily qigong practice helps reduce stress and improves focus and balance. Frank will also share some modifications to qigong exercises and Kung Fu practice that he uses to 'fight back' against the constant physical, mental and spiritual challenges of FSHD.
Practicing qigong may result in the following side effects: strengthened immune system, less stress, improved breathing, resistance to infections, virus, cold and flu, better balance and coordination, increased strength and stamina, better focus and concentration, more restful sleep.
